Lake George
March 5th - 16th

Purgatory is an intimate bi-monthly reading series, with six performances a year. This event is

an exclusive opportunity for select individuals to watch new, original works by emerging writers

undergoing development by Telos Ensemble for the stage and screen, performed by professional

actors. Purgatory was launched in December 2024 at the PRIV.Y Gallery in Lower Manhattan,

with one of the pieces featured subsequently selected for the Chain Theatre’s One-Act Festival

2025. The next edition of Purgatory will be held in February 2025.

Concupiscence is a one-act play by playwright Dan Blick, whose previous works include Telos

and Lake George. Featuring Mitchell Pope as Adam and April Qi as Ava, a couple who have

been together for the past five years, Concupiscence takes place late into the night before their move to a new apartment in the morning. Ava realizes that if she doesn’t leave Adam now, she may never find the strength to do so. Concupiscence explores elements of psychological and emotional abuse, manipulation within romantic relationships, and how this manifests itself into cyclical behaviors.

Premiering in November 2024, Lake George is back at the Chain Theatre. Lake George is a story centered around love, class dynamics and conflicting perspectives on life philosophies, Lake George provides a brutal and darkly comedic insight into the world of an upper-class family and their treatment of those around them.
